Shutdown of checkout.liquid begins for stores that did not upgrade

Shopify Plus stores still on checkout.liquid as of 13 August 2024

What it changes

Shopify begins switching off remaining customizations, so surviving tracking tags drop out without warning.

What to do

The replacement runs through customer events for measurement and checkout extensions for anything shown on screen. Putting a script back in the same place will not make it run again: the mechanism itself is gone.
