Shopify stops injecting script tags into storefronts
Who is affected
All stores, Plus and non-Plus, where an app still places a script tag on the online store
What it changes
Every measurement script still loaded this way disappears from the site, cutting tracking across all pages, not just checkout.
What to do
The replacement runs through customer events for measurement and checkout extensions for anything shown on screen. Putting a script back in the same place will not make it run again: the mechanism itself is gone.
